Janine sat at her desk, polishing her nails with a bored look on her face. There was nothing on TV, it was a slow day, and everyone was nervy. She adjusted her glasses and wondered how long it would be before anyone called.

Ray slid down the fireman's poll and landed with a shaking thump. "Hey Janine!" he said with a happy grin, "Any calls?"

"Well, Dr. Stantz," she said, placing down her nail file and looking up at him, "see this shiny, red button here?" She pointed to the button and didn't wait for an answer. "When someone calls, I press down on it. This sets off a blaring alarm, which will alert you to any ghostbusting related calls. Have you heard this alarm today? No? Well, that's a clue."

"Alright, I get it." he said, trying to keep her from continuing, "I meant did we get any messages from outside the alarm provocking subjects."

"About 45." she replied nonchalantly, passing him a slab of papers, full of little blue notes. She returned to her nails.

Peter walked into the room. "Hello Ray. Hello Janine. May I be of some assistance?" asked peter with a slight twinge of sarcasm in his voice.
